Taha A. Jan, MD
Principal Investigator

Dr. Jan is a surgeon-scientist with an interest in developmental and regenerative biology of the inner ear with the ultimate goal of translating discoveries in the laboratory to therapies in the clinic and operating room. 

Dr. Jan is an Assistant Professor of Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery, Cell and Developmental Biology, and Hearing and Speech Sciences. He is a board-certified Otologist, Neurotologist, and Skull Base Surgeon. He graduated with a bachelor's in Molecular and Cellular Biology from Vanderbilt University prior to attending medical school at Stanford University. He then went onto residency in Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery at the Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary / Harvard Program in Boston. Dr. Jan completed the Stanford University Clinician Scientist Training Program, a T32 postdoctoral research fellowship followed by Otology, Neurotology, and Skull Base Surgery clinical fellowship. He was an Assistant Professor at UCSF for 2 years prior to joining VUMC in July 2022.
